What’s the best/worst mileage you’ve ever achieved? Before I properly tuned the carb in my 1969 Chrysler, I was getting about 6 mpg from my 383. (Now I get about 12) On the flip side, I was once able to get 53 mpg from my 1.3L Suzuki Swift GTi. I don’t know many other solely gos powered cars that can do that well. What about you guys?

I had a 2003 Ram 1500 5.7 from 2006 to 2009. I consistently averaged about 11-12 MPG, unloaded. When gas spiked up to around 4$/gal in 2008 I bought a ‘96 Geo Metro hatch with the 1.0l 3-cylinder so I didn’t have to drive the Ram everywhere. With that I consistently got around 50 MPG, mostly on the highway. It was an awful, awful, piece of crap, but it got great mileage without and fancy technology.

34MPG vs 15MPG, both in my Accord.

I got 8 mpg for a while in my old S80 (not even the V8!) with a leaky turbo...

On the other hand I got ~110 mpg on my 50cc scooter before I put some mods on it where I got about 90... And no the mods don’t make it cooler, just fast enough to not disturb traffic...

I think my best was about 45mpg in a 1982 Tercel. Worst was in my SAAB 96 when a front caliper semi-seized, giving about 16-17 mpg.

I managed to get 48 mpg on one trip out of my ‘04 Mazda 3. It was a road I knew well with few lights and I was on it for over 40+ miles.

Best is my Jetta, it returned about 36 MPG over a mostly-highway drive last week.

Worst was when I took my dad’s old Tahoe to Washington DC. Getting 7-8 MPG near the White House in a big ass SUV felt American as hell.

My last tank was 23,5 mpg of LPG. Now that in itself doesn’t sound too bad but if you consider it was with a 1.2l engine that’s pretty ridicolous. Best I can do is 35 ish.

I had a gas leak in my 88 Blazer. I think I got about 3 miles per gallon all the way from Michigan to NJ.

I figured it out in Pennsylvania lol

Oh and my 07 Milan hit 99 mpg on the fuel calculator in dash for about 7 miles that included down and uphills on the way to SC from MI once. It’s normal best is about 31.

My worst was when I towed my parents trailer to the park last summer and the Yukon gave me a whopping average of 7mpg.

My best so far is 55.6 in the Jetta.

My worst is in my Charger at 5~mpg, best was in my ‘98 stratus after getting a ticket in Maryland at 36 mpg (usually averaged 25). Held it a 65 mph the rest of the trip, got a 44% increase in fuel mileage. I broke 30 twice more on a different road trip, single lane 45-60 mph speeds, so it wasn’t as much of a fluke.

Uhhhh... do I dare? Both ends of the spectrum here.

Worst, my 8.1 Yukon towing a 26’ travel trailer down I-75 from Michigan to Florida. About 6. Best? Hard to say... hard to say. The Volt is such a mix of electric that it’s wildly variable in reported “MPG”. But that said, the best tank fillup to fillup was “235 mpg” according to my ever reliable Gas Cubby app. Usually I get “100 mpg” unless it’s all gas driving, then it’s 40 for a best, 37 average, 28 worst.

My dads Volvo C70 got 99 MPG when decelerating at 60.

My Challenger probably does about 3 at WOT. I’ll have to check that sometime.

Worst was 5.8 in our Wrangler, due to lots of idling time, a badly tuned carb, and excessive 4WD use this past winter.

Kinja'd!!!

Best was 36 in an (automatic!) Geo Metro

My worst is 7 mpg in my ‘95 Jeep Wrangler when I drive from Austin to Marble Falls. My best is 19 mpg in my ‘14 F-150 when I drive up to Dallas. I-35 must have incredibly low resistance because it usually gets 16-17 mpg on the highway. Every car I’ve owned drinks gasoline like a Spring Break freshman on Padre Island.

I drove a 2013 Hyundai Accident Accent from Tulsa to Fayetteville a couple weeks ago and got 44 mpg. I thought it was witchcraft.

When the transmission crapped out on my Fleetwood, I was averaging like 11-12mpg until I got it rebuilt. Then it jumped back all the way to 16.
